Learning more about Holistic Pain.

Holistic Pain — think about that phrase for a second. The dictionary defines Holistic as “ …characterized by the treatment of the whole person, taking into account mental and social factors, rather than just the physical symptoms of a disease.” In other words, it’s about looking at your entire body, looking at every factor that goes into your world, and then figuring out the problem from there. And Pain, well that’s pretty obvious to anyone who’s experienced it: “physical suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury.” So what do the two have to do with each other?

Holistic Pain is a new company started by doctors who wanted to find another alternative to the pain medications they prescribed every day. One of those men is Dr. Tory McJunkin, and he spent a little time with us recently to talk about their new venture.

As a doctor, he deals with pain every day and one option for relief is medication. But those medications also come with side effects, some that aren’t very desirable. “This whole idea was borne out of our philosophy that we should minimize the risk to people,” Dr. McJunkin says. “When we can use comprehensive care and attack their pain from every angle, there weren’t a lot of good options out there that were natural options to help fight people’s pain.” As a result, they wanted to offer something different. “Medications can be dangerous and have numerous side effects, and we want to use something with natural ingredients.”

“We’ve been thinking for a couple of years about coming up with a product that was natural and supplements that had evidence that showed that they helped people with pain,” Dr. McJunkin says. “We wanted also to come up with supplements for certain kinds of conditions. Through a lot of research, we came up with different ingredients for each formula.” The result was Holistic Pain, and four unique formulas designed to be effective for those looking for relief from their particular issue. They are Head Formula, Nerve Formula, Spine Formula, and Bone and Cartilage Formula.

What makes these products special? Dr. McJunkin responds, “The products and ingredients that we’ve picked are already researched products that show that those ingredients help people with those conditions. What we’re trying to do is take things that have a really high chance or a moderate chance of helping people and putting them into the ingredients that go into the product.”

This is a new venture for the team, and it will be exciting to see how things come together. If you’re in pain, and you’ve been looking for a natural option, now’s your chance to come onboard.
